Tampa Bay woman’s efforts to bring back Sunday suppers, where family members gather around the table to eat homemade foods have turned into a worldwide movement.

A year ago a very apprehensive Isabel Laessig took to Twitter just to test the waters.

“I figured I’d try it out by talking about my favorite subject, my family, and love for bringing them around the table for Sunday supper with the Twitter handle @familyfoodies,” Laesig said.

News 2 Kitchen – If you had some of the country’s most famous foodies sampling your food, what would you feed them?

Food blogger and private chef Nikki Miller-Ka of Winston-Salem had that opportunity and her “Strawberry Red Wine Brownie” creation won her the national title.

Miller-Ka’s dessert was featured at the Food & Wine Conference July 19-21 in Orlando, Florida.  She competed against nearly a dozen dessert and brownie enthusiasts from all over the country in the Dixie Crystal’s Brownie Dessert Contest.
