2:30-3:00 WordPress Goodness: How to make the most out of your blog with WordPress and secrets of setting up WordPress sites for reader usability and conversion. Must have general WordPress Plugins and Plugins that every food blogger should have on their site. Panelists are Judi Knight and Renee Dobbs who are also having a workshop on Sunday.
3:15-4:00 Writing Wisdom: Writing for business is different than writing for fun, although it can be very fun when you are as passionate as these three award winning writers. These women found their passion in food, travel, photography and have done amazing things, including writing for major publications, writing their own cookbooks, creating award winning websites, and traveling the world. Their stories and journeys are sure to inspire you and unleash your own writing wisdom. Panelists are Monica Bhide, Jamie Schler, and Janet Keeler. All 3 panelists will have workshops on Sunday.
4:00-4:30 The Balanced Blogger – Is there really such a thing? Many bloggers struggle to find time to cook, write, be creative, raise a family, run a household, maintain personal relationships, have a presence on social media, blog and work full time. These three amazing women seem to be doing it all. They will be sharing 10 tangible tips for getting it all done; planning and organizing, hiring people to help where you need it, getting an agent, hiring a social media coordinator, being very transparent with your real world boss, using your passion business as leverage to keep your real world job in perspective, being present for family. 3:00-3:30: Working with Brands Breakout – A very hands-on and honest discussion on what brands look for with bloggers. Is it all about the numbers, photography, the story, videos, etc.? What can bloggers do to get the attention of a brand? We want to inspire attendees to take their blog to the next level and understand what three different brands look for when searching for ambassadors. Lauren from Harvard Common Press will moderate this Q&A session with representatives from OXO, Idaho Potato Commission, and The Beef Checkoff.
